How To Prevent Data To Be Transferred From PC To USB Drives?
Sometimes we don't want our confidential data to be accessible by other persons. Those confidential data may contain some issues related to Security, integrity or something personal.
Sometimes it happens that a guy comes all of a sudden and transfer some data, may be confidential, in his/her USB drive. This entails unauthorized exposure. Its really painstaking matter. Oh!! its really bad. I have a great utility S/W to share with you all. It just prevents others to steal your data into their USB drives. It is called USB WriteProtector.
Here is a screen shot of the mentioned S/W.
Download USB WriteProtector from “HERE”
and unzip it in a folder. Run the USB WriteProtector exe, select your language, click ‘USB write protection ON’ button for write protecting USB devices. You can disable it at any time by clicking on ‘USB write protection OFF’ button.
This can be performed manually by editing the Registry Items. I have described the process as under
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
Right click on ‘Control’ and create a new key and name it StorageDevicePolicies. On the right pane create a new DWORD value by right clicking and name it WriteProtect, insert a value of “1″ and reboot PC. Now no one can copy content onto USB devices. To re-enable this, change the DWORD value to 0. This is what the above tool does
